30. Asghar Farhadi
Farhadi’s movies may be in Farsi, but his characters are universal. His scripts and way of shooting are grounded in a realistic style that is simultaneously absorbing yet balanced. If the purpose of art is to give us empathy, then Asghar Farhadi is a great artist.
